The conflicting parties in Libya are betting on Morocco to resume negotiations

An internal and external diplomatic movement in the "collapsed republic of Gaddafi"، in recent days، aims to activate the political track again، with the aim of extricating the country from the interlocking crisis that has brought all parties to a dead end.

The conflicting parties are moving towards a ceasefire and the continuation of the negotiation track; This is what the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya appreciated، Stephanie Williams، who hopes that this will lead to the acceleration of the implementation of the agreements of the Joint Military Committee (5 + 5)، according to a press release.

Aguila Saleh Issa، the speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives، revealed the cessation of all combat operations throughout the Libyan territories، expressing his endeavor to move beyond the past and turn the pages of the conflict، in exchange for the aspiration to build the state through an electoral process in accordance with the constitution.

For his part، Faiz Mustafa al-Sarraj، head of the Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord، announced a ceasefire، stating that the final goal is to restore full sovereignty over Libyan soil and the exit of foreign forces، calling for presidential and parliamentary elections to take place next March.

Within the framework of the diplomatic efforts taking place in the Libyan region، Khaled Al-Mashri، head of the Supreme Council of the Libyan State، in a statement he made to "Medi1 TV"، called for dialogue and negotiation with the Speaker of the Libyan Parliament.

The Libyan official pointed out that he had visited Morocco and expressed his readiness to meet the other conflicting parties، provided that it was a public meeting، highlighting that Morocco embraced the first political agreement and had no negative interference. From there، the Libyan parties trust the Moroccan leadership.

In this regard، Idriss Kereni، professor of international relations at the Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech، said، "Morocco has all the ingredients that qualify it to play a constructive and sound role in managing the Libyan file، due to various considerations".

At the forefront of these considerations، according to Kerini، Morocco has been proactive since the outbreak of the crisis to host one of the most important agreements that crystallized until the time، which is the Skhirat Agreement، which has always emphasized the unity of Libya، and the importance of the consensus of the Libyan parties.

The head of the Maghreb Labor Organization added، in a statement to the online newspaper Hespress، that "Morocco has not lined up on one side against another، " referring to "Aqila Saleh's visit a few weeks ago to Morocco، where he enjoys the respect of the recognized government".

He explained that "the Libyan parties are aware of the seriousness and credibility of the Moroccan role at the level of playing pivotal roles that would bring together the file and bring points of view closer، then search for a serious and sustainable solution that would get Libya out of the successive crises that affected it".
